“Joined” or “Captured” in Isaiah 13:15?

"Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword." (Isaiah 13:15, KJV)

Critics claim that the KJV wrongly translates “ספה (sâphâh)” as “joined” in Isaiah 13:15. However, the ESV and the NASB translate the same word as “add” in Isaiah 29:1 and 30:1. “Add” and “join” are not exact synonyms, but they both indicate putting something together with another thing.
