“Dragon” or “Serpent” in Psalm 91:13 et al.?
"Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet." (Psalm 91:13, KJV)
Some people criticize the KJV for referring to dragons, which are supposedly mythical creatures. However, dragons are not mythical. Alive today are the Komodo Dragon and many lizards of the Ctenophorus genus called “dragons.” Dinosaurs also fit the general description of dragons. In the Chinese language, "dinosaur" is spelled "恐龍" which consists of the words 恐 (fearsome) and 龍 (dragon).
